Base Salary
$144k - $194k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement new components and improvements for Amazon S3 storage services.
- Build services that persist and retrieve customer data at global scale.
- Deliver features, fix bugs, and improve testing and operational tooling.
- Collaborate with engineers and senior engineers on distributed-system design and implementation.
- Participate in code reviews, design reviews, verification processes, and regular on-call support for a 24x7 service.
- Develop expertise in a service area and grow toward subject-matter expertise.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 2 years of experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- At least 1 year of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
- At least 1 year designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
- At least 1 year of object-oriented design experience.
- A bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
- Preferred: at least 3 years covering the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
