Base Salary

$144k - $194k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and test features across distributed query execution and long-term metrics storage systems using Rust, Java, and AWS services.
  • Operate and maintain a globally available 24x7 CloudWatch service, investigate root causes, and implement permanent operational fixes.
  • Collaborate with customers, stakeholders, and peers to understand requirements and shape the product roadmap.
  • Contribute to design, code reviews, testing, deployment, documentation, and incremental delivery across the software development lifecycle.
  • Evaluate new tools and approaches and recommend their adoption and integration.
  • Mentor teammates through constructive feedback.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of non-internship experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
  • Experience programming in at least one software programming language.
  • Preferred: familiarity with time-series data, metrics systems, Prometheus, or OpenTelemetry.
  • Preferred: experience with S3-based storage, stream processing such as Kinesis or Kafka, or columnar formats such as Parquet.
  • Preferred: familiarity with PromQL or other time-series query languages.
  • Preferred: experience with query planning, storage compaction, or performance optimization at scale.
