Principal Software Engineer – Web Infrastructure (Frontend DevEx)

Responsibilities
- Own and improve the frontend development loop across local development, build, and test workflows.
- Drive CI/CD reliability, speed, and deployment confidence across the frontend platform.
- Evolve microfrontend architecture, module patterns, and standards within the monorepo.
- Build and maintain self-service tooling and internal platform capabilities.
- Embed AI into code authoring, testing, debugging, and documentation workflows.
- Define, track, and improve developer productivity metrics including build time, DORA, and developer CSAT.
- Identify systemic friction in the developer journey and implement scalable solutions.
- Collaborate with the Europe-based Web Infra team on strategy and roadmap while owning outcomes end-to-end.
Requirements
- Principal-level experience in platform engineering, developer experience, or internal tooling.
- Deep hands-on experience designing, optimizing, and improving the reliability of web CI/CD pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with CDN and edge infrastructure, including CloudFront, Lambda@Edge, and S3.
- Strong knowledge of modern frontend development, including React at scale, microfrontends, and module federation.
- Experience scaling frontend observability for errors, performance, real user monitoring, and analytics.
- A track record of improving developer experience metrics such as DORA, DX insights, and CSAT.
- Ability to identify systemic friction, solve problems pragmatically, and operate independently across distributed teams.
- Hands-on experience applying AI tooling to engineering workflows.
- Based in the EST timezone.
- Preferred experience with progressive delivery, feature flag platforms, test platforms, QA automation, Kubernetes-based infrastructure, cloud-native deployment patterns, or platforms serving frontend engineers.
