Responsibilities
- Own, operate, and evolve the cloud and Kubernetes-based platform.
- Improve the security, reliability, cost efficiency, and performance of infrastructure.
- Set architectural direction, champion standards, and eliminate duplication across platform capabilities.
- Collaborate with Product teams to enable them to build and own their services.
- Work with SRE and DevEx platform teams to create a coherent, high-quality platform.
- Enable self-service and agentic workflow patterns supporting a Build it - Own it model.
- Build infrastructure tooling and AI-powered integrations that reduce the cognitive load of complex operations.
- Provide support for platform systems to a globally distributed engineering organization.
- Execute, automate, and support operational tasks on complex, mission-critical systems.
- Architect, design, and implement simple, maintainable solutions.
Requirements
- Extensive experience with Kubernetes, containerization, and AWS cloud infrastructure is required.
- A proven track record of running Kubernetes- and cloud-based production SaaS systems at scale is required.
- Deep understanding of networking and production-level use of service meshes and gateways is required.
- Strong operational and troubleshooting skills across Kubernetes, databases, messaging systems, and storage layers are required.
- Proficiency in Python and Golang, preferably demonstrated through infrastructure tooling, Kubernetes operators, or control-plane components, is required.
- Ability and desire to design, lead, influence, and deliver ambitious technical roadmaps is required.
- Experience managing large fleets of Kubernetes clusters with lifecycle management tools such as CAPI or Rancher is preferred.
- Production experience with HashiCorp Vault or similar secret-management systems is preferred.
- Knowledge of GCP and Azure is preferred.
