Base Salary
$191k - $267k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and launch user-facing products and features for Reddit’s Feed pages in partnership with product, design, backend, and other engineering teams.
- Own the full development lifecycle for major projects, including design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch.
- Drive planning, development, and implementation of critical projects across Reddit’s web architecture.
- Write and review code and design documents, provide feedback on product specifications and mocks, and ensure successful delivery.
- Improve developer workflows and engineering standards, recommend best practices, and mentor engineers.
- Promote metrics-led execution, operational excellence, and system observability.
- Partner with leadership and cross-functional stakeholders on product and engineering roadmaps.
Requirements
- 6+ years of software development experience in frontend-focused programming languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, or ES6.
- Experience with one or more frontend web frameworks such as Lit, Polymer, React, Vue, or Angular, along with CSS.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong user-experience and usability focus, with experience in social products considered a plus.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Experience with GraphQL, REST, HTTP, and Thrift basics, plus the ability to design and implement maintainable APIs, is a plus.
- Understanding of large-scale web applications, high requests per second, and complex-page performance considerations is a plus.
- Ability to work independently, innovate, and operate effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
