
Lead Systems Operations Engineer - Production Support

- Lead complex, broad-impact systems operations initiatives and provide high-level systems consultation to technology teams.
- Plan and support computer systems and network infrastructure, including technical changes, enhancements, and application infrastructure.
- Design, code, test, and deliver software that automates manual operations work.
- Establish application monitoring, observability, service level objectives, service level indicators, and error budgets for critical components.
- Automate application deployment, software and product upgrades, change management, and release management.
- Support application deployment, incident management, capacity upgrades, reporting, system integrations, and platform availability.
- Design self-healing and resiliency patterns and run chaos experiments.
- Troubleshoot priority incidents, facilitate blameless post-mortems, and ensure permanent incident closure.
- Work with engineering and application teams to resolve production support issues and improve service reliability.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- Advanced understanding of application monitoring across logs, metrics, events, traces, and alerts, including end-to-end infrastructure and application observability.
- Experience with industry-standard monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, Splunk, ELK, APM, Grafana, and Prometheus.
- Experience deploying applications to cloud platforms and using CI/CD tools including Jenkins, Gradle, Groovy, and Maven.
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible and proficiency in Java or Python.
- Knowledge of web services, infrastructure technologies, networking, Linux, Agile methodology, and DevOps practices.
- Hands-on database experience with Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and MongoDB.
- Experience with Autosys, Ab Initio, ServiceNow, JIRA, Shell scripting, NDM, and SFTP is desired.
