Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Node.js, Express.js, and Koa.
- Design MongoDB schemas, indexes, and queries, while using SQL-based databases when required.
- Build secure, reusable RESTful and GraphQL APIs and implement OAuth, JWT, and role-based access control.
- Apply security and data protection best practices across APIs, data flows, and database designs.
- Debug production issues, analyze logs and metrics, resolve root causes, and address performance bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with frontend developers, designers, and other teams to integrate server-side and frontend functionality.
- Document code, APIs, and database schemas.
- Contribute to AI-powered and agent-based systems, LLM workflows, streaming systems, voice systems, and real-time services.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of professional backend development experience using Node.js and MongoDB.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, asynchronous programming, concurrency, non-blocking I/O, and Node.js performance optimization.
- Experience with Express.js and Koa, including API design, middleware, routing, validation, and error management.
- Experience with MongoDB and SQL-based databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL, including schema design, query optimization, execution-plan analysis, and indexing.
- Familiarity with OAuth, JWT, secure authentication flows, token-based authentication, authorization, and role-based access control.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve production issues using logs and metrics and deploy fixes with minimal disruption.
- Experience with media streaming, real-time audio/video, streaming protocols, low-latency architectures, or high-throughput media pipelines.
- Exposure to voice processing, speech-to-text, text-to-speech, VoIP integrations, or real-time communication systems.
- Experience integrating machine learning models or LLM APIs, handling inference workflows, prompt orchestration, or building AI-powered backend services.
- Experience designing agent-based systems, tool orchestration, workflow automation, multi-step state management, or event-driven intelligent systems.
- Knowledge of API and backend security, data protection, encryption, and secure API design.
- Experience with Jest, Mocha, or Chai for unit and integration testing.
- Proficiency with Git; cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and Docker or Kubernetes experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with microservices, event-driven systems, Redis, and Agile/Scrum methodologies is preferred.
