Base Salary
$182k - $242k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate scalable multi-tenant file and block storage services on CoreWeave hardware and Kubernetes.
- Own NFS data-path reliability, I/O resilience, performance, small-file workloads, metadata performance, and GPU-feeding throughput.
- Build durable, high-performance block volumes for customer workloads and internal stateful services.
- Deliver a backend-neutral Kubernetes CSI driver with dynamic provisioning, resizing, snapshots, and RWO block volumes.
- Build storage control-plane capabilities including tenancy isolation, quotas, QoS, snapshots, BYOK key management, auditing, and lifecycle policies.
- Improve storage reliability, durability, observability, latency, and resilience using telemetry, metrics, and dashboards.
- Partner with platform, product, infrastructure, and operations teams, including tiering cold data to object storage.
- Mentor engineers and share best practices for distributed, high-performance systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- 6–10 years of experience building storage systems, distributed systems, or infrastructure services.
- Production experience with distributed or networked file systems and/or block storage, including durability, snapshots, and replication.
- Expertise in storage data paths, I/O performance, caching, small-file and metadata-heavy workloads, crash consistency, and resilience under load.
- Experience with multi-tenant services or storage control planes, including provisioning, quotas, snapshots, encryption, and key management.
- Proficiency in a systems or back-end language, with Go strongly preferred and C or Rust beneficial.
- Experience building on Kubernetes, including controllers/operators, CRDs, and CSI.
- Familiarity with distributed databases, workflow orchestration, and gRPC/Protobuf service design.
- Distributed or parallel storage experience with technologies such as Ceph/RBD, Lustre, GPFS/Spectrum Scale, BeeGFS, WEKA, VAST, or DAOS is preferred.
- Familiarity with ClickHouse, Prometheus, Grafana, storage observability, and telemetry pipelines is preferred.
- Exposure to RDMA, GPUDirect Storage, RoCE, InfiniBand, or SPDK is a bonus.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
