Responsibilities
- Own and deliver quarterly goals for the team while leading engineers through ambiguous, open-ended problems.
- Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics on ideation, technical constraints, risks, trade-offs, and product decisions.
- Identify and lead resolution of project, process, technology, and business issues.
- Support artifact operations and availability by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating issues, and participating in on-call and keep-the-lights-on efforts.
- Set and improve code review and design standards and promote engineering quality through writing and technical talks.
- Develop team talent through feedback, guidance, and leading by example.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience.
- Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using technologies such as Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
- Experience shipping frontend applications.
- Ability to define technical plans for significant features or system components using simple, extensible designs.
- Ability to make significant changes safely in a large codebase and develop tools and practices that support this work.
- Demonstrated ownership of professional growth and proactive feedback-seeking.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team.
