Responsibilities
- Lead solution design and independently deliver complex, cross-domain software solutions.
- Build scalable geospatial solutions with the ArcGIS stack and optimize spatial data workflows and query performance.
- Design and implement features across React, C# backend services, databases, and deployment pipelines.
- Establish DevSecOps tooling and processes using Octopus Deploy and cloud technologies.
- Use, review, validate, and debug AI-generated code and develop LLM-enabled software capabilities.
- Own unit, system integration, and user acceptance testing and troubleshoot failures through resolution.
- Mentor junior engineers and support applications used across the organization.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience with modern LLM APIs, prompt engineering, tool use/function calling, structured outputs, and context engineering.
- ArcGIS JS development and integration experience.
- Experience with backend systems, microservice and distributed-system architectures using Python, Node.js, Java, Go, or C#.
- Experience designing and maintaining APIs, plus major-cloud-platform experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with relational databases including PostgreSQL and MySQL and NoSQL databases including MongoDB and DynamoDB.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and containerization using Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Preferred experience building or deploying LLM-enabled systems, AI agents, agent orchestration frameworks, and AI evaluation or testing frameworks.
- Preferred front-end experience with React, Angular, or Vue.js and experience with data-intensive domains or cloud-native modernization.
Benefits
- Estimated base salary is CAD 159,100.00–238,700.00 per year, with potential eligibility for discretionary bonuses and benefits.
- The position is onsite in Calgary, Alberta; Toronto, Ontario; or Vancouver, British Columbia.
