Base Salary
$168k - $262k/yr
Responsibilities
- Embed within customer engineering teams and translate business problems into scalable AI-enabled production systems.
- Design and develop production AI applications, agentic workflows, orchestration layers, retrieval pipelines, workflow automation, and decision intelligence systems.
- Integrate foundation models, customer data sources, APIs, and existing applications into cohesive AI experiences.
- Own design, deployment, operationalization, reliability, observability, cost optimization, and security of production systems.
- Troubleshoot incidents across AI models, distributed systems, data pipelines, and application services.
- Implement monitoring, evaluations, guardrails, testing, CI/CD, rollback, and resiliency mechanisms.
- Identify opportunities to expand customer AI adoption and create reusable architectures, patterns, accelerators, and reference architectures.
- Mentor engineers and contribute engineering practices, components, and learnings back to AWS.
Requirements
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture for new and existing systems, including reliability and scaling.
- Experience mentoring, serving as a technical lead, or leading an engineering team.
- Experience communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Experience leading agentic and spec-driven development at production scale; AI agent development is a plus.
- Experience with evaluation frameworks, agent tooling, retrieval-augmented generation pipelines, and prompt engineering.
- Preferred: bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Preferred: experience with AWS Services.
- Preferred: experience with Python, Ruby, Node.js, C#, or C++.
- Preferred: 3+ years of agile software development methodology experience.
- Preferred: experience building or deploying AI/ML applications at enterprise production scale.
- Preferred: founder, engineering lead, or startup builder background with high ownership and urgency.
- Preferred: experience architecting and delivering complex, multi-component systems in customer production environments.
- Preferred: experience leading customer-facing technical projects or managing external stakeholder relationships.
