Base Salary

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end solution delivery for Billing and Maintenance applications across front end, back end, APIs and services, integrations, data layers, AI capabilities, and vendor-supported components.
  • Drive use of AI-assisted engineering tools for code generation, refactoring, testing, debugging, documentation, and prototyping.
  • Identify and lead AI, automation, and intelligent workflow opportunities to improve billing accuracy, reduce manual work, detect anomalies, and enhance client experience.
  • Serve as application lead, solution architecture lead, and functional subject matter expert from intake and design through development, testing, release, and production support.
  • Provide technical, functional, and delivery direction to vendor development teams and align solutions with enterprise standards and product outcomes.
  • Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications covering solution options, design decisions, dependencies, risks, security, and estimates.
  • Lead architecture and solution design discussions addressing security, performance, availability, scalability, compliance, resiliency, maintainability, data governance, and AI risk.
  • Partner with product, operations, QA, design, business, IT, security, data, and vendor teams to prioritize work, manage dependencies, and drive Agile execution.
  • Establish engineering standards through design reviews, code reviews, refactoring, automated testing, CI/CD improvements, and release governance.
  • Act as the primary escalation and decision-making point for complex issues during delivery, testing, release, production support, and incident response.
  • Mentor team members, facilitate knowledge transfer, and maintain API specifications, architecture notes, runbooks, support guides, and operational readiness documentation.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience delivering production-grade software solutions with depth in backend engineering, APIs and services, integrations, data layers, and cloud-native application delivery.
  • 3+ years of technical leadership experience involving solution design, work decomposition, engineer mentoring, vendor guidance, code reviews, and engineering standards.
  • Proficiency in at least one modern backend language or framework such as Java/Spring Boot, Node.js, or Python.
  • Experience designing scalable REST or GraphQL APIs, microservices, event-driven services, and integration patterns.
  • Hands-on experience designing, building, deploying, and operating AWS cloud-native applications, including Kubernetes/EKS, ECS, AWS Lambda, managed databases, and cloud security practices.
  • Hands-on use of AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or ChatGPT in development workflows.
  • Understanding of DevOps and cloud-native delivery practices, including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, automated deployments, observability, release management, and production reliability.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Preferred: frontend development experience with React or Angular.
  • Preferred: experience with agentic AI, AI agents, workflow automation, LLM integration, prompt orchestration, tool or function calling, human-in-the-loop controls, and responsible AI.
  • Preferred: experience with logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, dashboards, production health monitoring, secure-by-design practices, authentication, authorization, secrets management, vulnerability remediation, OWASP fundamentals, data protection, and enterprise AI/ML integrations.
