Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and independently deliver moderately complex full-stack features with limited guidance.
- Build scalable, accessible, and performant React and TypeScript user interfaces using design systems and shared component libraries.
- Design and implement Java and Spring Boot microservices, RESTful APIs, GraphQL APIs, and enterprise data integrations.
- Build persistence layers with JPA/Hibernate and relational databases, and optimize queries, caching, and asynchronous processing.
- Maintain microservices and event-driven architectures using message brokers where applicable.
- Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests across frontend and backend systems.
- Participate in code reviews and improve quality, performance, security, accessibility, maintainability, and engineering standards.
- Maintain build tooling and contribute to CI/CD, deployment pipelines, automated quality checks, and production troubleshooting.
- Use Cursor AI and GitHub Copilot and contribute to AI agents and automation for testing, scaffolding, documentation, accessibility, and code-quality workflows.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and other stakeholders, and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5–7 years of professional software engineering experience balancing frontend and backend development.
- Strong proficiency with React and TypeScript, Java 11+, and Spring Boot.
- Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript.
- Experience building and consuming RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
- Proficiency with PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, and JPA/Hibernate.
- Experience with microservices architectures and distributed systems design.
- Familiarity with Git, pull requests, and collaborative development workflows.
- Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools in day-to-day engineering work.
- Preferred experience with NestJS or similar Node.js frameworks, GraphQL client and server libraries, frontend and backend testing tools, performance optimization, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure, AWS, GCP, Kafka, RabbitMQ, OAuth2, JWT, Spring Security, observability tools, and LLM or agent frameworks.
