Responsibilities
- Own the UI architecture, view layer, state, and data flow for Finder and Files clients.
- Architect interactions and shared foundations across macOS, iOS, iPadOS, and visionOS.
- Partner with design, file systems, and frameworks teams from initial concepts through shipped features.
- Set engineering standards through design reviews, code reviews, and technical prototypes.
- Mentor engineers and raise the team’s technical depth and quality of debate.
- Champion and define the team’s adoption of agentic coding tools for prototyping and large-scale code changes.
- Diagnose and resolve cross-feature problems involving responsiveness, correctness, and synchronization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
- At least 8 years of software engineering experience, including technical leadership for a large, shipping client application or framework.
- Deep object-oriented programming experience and mastery of at least one Apple UI framework.
- Experience leveraging agentic coding tools for high-velocity prototyping and code changes.
- Preferred experience architecting UI at scale, owning large long-lived codebases, analyzing multi-client synchronization problems, and working with file systems, cloud sync, or file provider architectures.
- Preferred experience building agentic harnesses and mentoring engineers.
- Strong communication, collaboration, adaptability, and results-oriented problem-solving skills.
