Responsibilities
- Partner with PMs and engineers to build backend support for cloud database service products.
- Design and develop core database system functionality and related tools.
- Conduct performance and scalability testing and research improvements.
- Implement unit, functional, and system tests for product quality.
- Participate in release and deployment processes.
- Debug issues, diagnose defects, and conduct root-cause analysis.
- Solve complex, large-scale cloud infrastructure problems.
- Participate in the on-call rotation to maintain operational reliability and high availability.
Requirements
- Experience with query processing, query execution, query optimization, transaction management, storage management, backup and restore.
- Experience building large-scale, high-performance database platforms.
- Experience with storage systems and distributed systems.
- Strong programming skills in C, C++, Go, or Java.
- Knowledge of Linux shell and scripting languages such as Python.
- At least 3 years of industry experience in systems or database-internals programming.
- Preferred BS or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- MySQL or PostgreSQL software development experience is a plus.
