Base Salary
$145k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, document, deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain full-stack web applications supporting ERCOT grid and market operations.
- Gather and analyze functional and non-functional requirements and participate in design, architecture, and requirements reviews.
- Develop and manage source code, releases, documentation, and change processes using organizational SDLC standards and Atlassian Bitbucket tools.
- Build and maintain front-end and back-end applications, APIs, database integrations, data pipelines, and deployment automation.
- Perform manual and automated unit, regression, and integration testing, code reviews, root cause analysis, application optimization, and production issue resolution.
- Automate software development and deployment processes using CI/CD tools and improve engineering processes, tools, and organizational efficiency.
- Provide technical support to business users, production support teams, internal stakeholders, vendors, and market participants.
- Use AI tools and prompt engineering to support software development, testing, debugging, refactoring, code quality, and productivity.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, project coordination, and—at the Lead level—strategic technical leadership across multiple teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required; equivalent education and experience may provide equivalent knowledge.
- Senior Level requires a minimum of 5 years of related work experience beyond degree requirements; Lead Level requires a minimum of 8 years beyond degree requirements.
- Experience with Java 17+, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Angular or React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3/SASS, and Python or shell scripting.
- Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL and knowledge of NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Cassandra.
- Experience designing RESTful APIs and using JSON and OpenAPI/Swagger documentation.
- Experience with Git, GitHub or Bitbucket, Maven, IntelliJ, VS Code, Ansible, Docker, Docker Compose, Windows, Linux, and Azure or AWS.
- Experience with data pipelines and large-scale data processing, including Airflow and Databricks.
- Preferred experience includes Tibco JMS, AMQ, Kafka, CIM/XML model-based tools, power industry grid and market systems, Python machine-learning fundamentals, PyTorch or TensorFlow, deep learning models, LLMs, prompt engineering, and RAG architectures or frameworks.
- Ability to provide technical leadership, solve moderately complex problems, communicate effectively, mentor team members, and apply software engineering standards and design patterns.
- Knowledge of ERCOT Nodal Protocols, PUCT rulings, NERC Reliability Standards, and CIP requirements is relevant to the Lead-level responsibilities.

- Remote work must be performed from the employee’s Texas residence, and employees may choose to work on-site more frequently or 100% of the time.
