Responsibilities
- Design, prototype, and validate enterprise technology architectures, integrations, AI/automation workflows, and technical solutions through hands-on proofs-of-concept and proofs-of-value.
- Review code, technical designs, specifications, infrastructure, data models, and integration patterns for complex or high-risk initiatives.
- Develop and manage strategic architecture roadmaps covering AI, automation, data and analytics, applications, platforms, information, and technology modernization.
- Lead architecture governance, project triage, portfolio dependency and risk management, reference architecture development, and solution reviews from inception through execution.
- Lead innovation and transformational programs involving technology modernization, AI transformation, advanced analytics, and omnichannel engagement.
- Partner with global technology, enterprise architecture, engineering, product, information security, business, and vendor stakeholders to influence technical direction and delivery.
- Coach and guide a small team of technologists and security specialists and mentor technical career development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology or a related field.
- At least 10 years of hands-on experience with deep technical expertise across infrastructure, application engineering, cloud platforms, data, and AI/ML.
- Demonstrated ability to personally design, prototype, and validate architectures rather than only review or govern them.
- Experience working with code, cloud consoles, technical design tools, cloud architecture, infrastructure deployment, data pipelines, application integration, and AI/ML systems.
- Proven record of delivering complex technical programs from architecture through implementation and production rollout.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, autonomy in ambiguous environments, learning agility, and ability to influence engineering teams and senior leadership.
- Experience with portfolio management, project management methodologies, and agile frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe.
- Understanding of privacy and security regulations, threat modeling, secure architecture review, and compliance-aware system design.
- Experience in a business affiliate, ideally within Lilly, is preferred.
