Base Salary
$180k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of complex, production-grade systems.
- Architect scalable services and APIs using TypeScript, Python, and Go.
- Own technically challenging projects from design through deployment.
- Drive architectural decisions across multiple engineering teams.
- Improve system performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
- Identify technical bottlenecks and develop long-term solutions.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and other technical stakeholders.
- Establish engineering standards, patterns, and best practices.
- Mentor senior engineers and provide technical leadership.
- Participate in technical strategy and long-term platform planning.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong experience with TypeScript, Python, Go, or a combination of these technologies.
- Proven experience designing and operating production systems at scale.
- Strong distributed systems and system design knowledge.
- Experience leading technical projects across multiple teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Strong ownership and ability to work independently.
- Willingness to work on-site in San Francisco.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes is preferred.
- Experience building high-scale SaaS or platform systems is preferred.
- Distributed systems or event-driven architecture experience is preferred.
- AI/ML infrastructure or AI product experience is preferred.
- Startup or scale-up experience is preferred.
- Experience mentoring engineers or leading technical initiatives is preferred.
- Fluent English is required.
- Experience with YC-backed or venture-backed startups is expected.
