Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, and deliver scalable, resilient, secure cloud-native applications.
  • Own architecture decisions across applications and infrastructure.
  • Lead large-scale modernization from monolithic systems to cloud-native, containerized, service-oriented architectures.
  • Establish engineering standards, reference architectures, and maintainability and operational excellence practices.
  • Drive reliability through metrics, logging, tracing, capacity planning, monitoring, and SRE practices.
  • Implement secure-by-design architectures using identity management, encryption, secrets management, threat modeling, compliance controls, and zero-trust principles.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions with product, architecture, engineering, and cross-functional partners.
  • Lead production incident reviews, root-cause analysis, resiliency improvements, and operational readiness programs.
  • Evaluate technologies and trends and recommend improvements to scalability, productivity, reliability, security, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop microservices, RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native solutions.

Requirements

  • 13+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems in cloud environments.
  • Significant hands-on experience with Java, Go, or .NET; RESTful APIs; event-driven architectures; and cloud-native platforms.
  • Expert-level knowledge of AWS compute, networking, caching, storage, messaging, container orchestration, observability, and security services.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL Server, DynamoDB, and PostgreSQL, including high availability, performance tuning, query optimization, partitioning, and replication.
  • Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, CI/CD automation, GitOps workflows, and platform engineering practices.
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems, scalability, fault tolerance, consistency models, concurrency, caching, asynchronous processing, and Kafka.
  • Good frontend engineering experience using React.
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and business audiences.
