Responsibilities

  • Build backend services, platforms, APIs, cloud-native applications, and streaming systems for trading and middle-office workflows.
  • Design event-driven and domain-driven solutions and improve system performance, reliability, scalability, and production operations.
  • Lead Data and AI solutions from discovery through deployment, including agentic applications, multi-agent workflows, and Model Context Protocol services.
  • Develop evaluation and monitoring capabilities for AI solution accuracy, reliability, safety, and performance.
  • Partner with traders, risk teams, operators, finance teams, product managers, designers, engineers, and data specialists to understand business needs.
  • Contribute to technical design, architectural decisions, technology roadmaps, knowledge sharing, mentoring, and engineering practice improvements.

Requirements

  • Strong software engineering fundamentals in object-oriented design, algorithms, and data structures.
  • Proficiency in Java, C#, Python, Scala, Go, or similar programming languages.
  • Experience building distributed, cloud-native applications and streaming or event-driven systems.
  • Experience with GKE, OpenShift, EKS, AKS, or Cloud Foundry.
  • Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, or similar messaging technologies.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or other relational databases.
  • Knowledge of reactive programming, distributed systems, Domain-Driven Design, concurrency, networking, and JVM performance.
  • Experience with TDD, CI/CD, automated testing, production application support, regulated or highly controlled environments, and AI-assisted development tools.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Desirable qualifications include energy or commodity trading experience, trading/risk/middle-office platform experience, Event Sourcing, CQRS, Actor Model architectures, AI-enabled applications, AI monitoring and evaluation, and engineer mentoring.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
