Responsibilities
- Design and build the trigger system linking GitLab events to AI-powered workflows.
- Contribute to the broader event platform that supports GitLab's AI features.
- Architect systems for high availability and throughput.
- Work within GitLab's Rails monolith and other languages as needed.
- Influence product and architecture direction through iterative solutions.
- Collaborate with teammates and cross-departmental teams on integration.
- Participate in on-call rotations to troubleshoot production issues.
Requirements
- Deep experience with Ruby and Rails in a large monolith.
- Proven track record integrating large language models into user-facing tools.
- Experience designing and operating large-scale systems for high availability.
- Hands-on experience with agentic systems and AI workflows.
- Ability to adapt to evolving problem spaces and learn new AI capabilities.
- Strong written communication skills for remote collaboration.
- Helpful experience with Python and using GitLab as a product.
