Responsibilities
- Design and build trigger systems connecting GitLab and third-party events to AI-powered Duo Flows.
- Contribute to the event platform infrastructure that supports GitLab’s AI features.
- Architect systems for high availability, throughput, and reliable event processing at scale.
- Develop primarily within GitLab’s Rails monolith while working with other platform languages as needed.
- Propose iterative solutions and influence product and architecture direction across a multi-service environment.
- Collaborate with teammates, product managers, designers, and other Duo Agent Platform teams.
- Participate in Tier 2 and Tier 3 on-call rotations for production, security, and urgent engineering issues.
Requirements
- Deep experience with Ruby and Rails and production development in a large monolith.
- Experience building user-facing products that integrate large language models, rather than training or building machine learning models.
- Experience designing and operating large-scale, highly available, high-throughput production systems.
- Hands-on experience building agentic systems and autonomous AI workflows.
- Ability to work effectively in evolving technical problem spaces and learn new AI capabilities quickly.
- Strong written communication skills for asynchronous collaboration in a remote, globally distributed team.
- Python experience and experience using GitLab as a product are helpful.
