Responsibilities
- Deliver end-to-end product contributions and user experiences for Blackpoint’s cybersecurity platform.
- Lead projects across TypeScript, React, Node.js services, Kubernetes, data pipelines, and platform infrastructure.
- Make architectural decisions for data ingestion, modeling, storage, orchestration, and platform systems.
- Design and maintain pipelines for onboarding data domains and integrating them into product-facing services.
- Strengthen observability through metrics, data lineage, SLAs/SLOs, and alerting.
- Optimize systems for performance, scale, resiliency, and maintainability.
- Mentor engineers and lead complex cross-functional projects.
- Communicate technical solutions, progress, and business alignment to leadership.
- Evaluate and implement responsible AI-powered tools and practices for development, testing, delivery, and observability.
- Lead sprint planning and align team efforts with business objectives.
Requirements
- 10+ years of industry experience in software or platform engineering.
- Proficiency with React, TypeScript, and modern front-end architecture and design patterns.
- Strong Node.js backend development experience, including microservices on Kubernetes.
- Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and operations; Azure or GCP experience is helpful.
- Experience with Kafka, Spark Structured Streaming, data streaming, event-driven processing, and distributed ETL or batch processing.
- Experience designing and consuming REST, GraphQL, or gRPC APIs.
- Expertise in SQL and NoSQL database design, performance tuning, and indexing, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.
- Experience with Iceberg and Parquet or similar modern table formats.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins or GitLab.
- Understanding of API security, sensitive-data handling, authentication, and authorization using OAuth and JWT.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools while maintaining code quality, security review, and architectural integrity.
- Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment with multiple daily releases.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment and leading sprint planning.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional leadership abilities.
- Preferred experience with BI semantic layers, medallion architectures, graph or search systems such as Trino or Presto, cybersecurity or SIEM, internationalization and localization frameworks, and LLM-based capabilities or AI features in production SaaS products.
- Familiarity with Agile Scrum is preferred.
