[BLR] Network Security Protocols (Macsec) Software Development – Technical Lead

Responsibilities
- Work with customer and product teams to understand requirements and produce feature specifications and detailed designs.
- Implement MACsec/MKA features and improvements individually or as part of a team.
- Triage and resolve internal and customer-reported issues and analyze complex system-level problems.
- Evaluate and integrate third-party libraries.
- Review feature specifications, code, test plans, and other engineering documents.
- Improve the performance and scalability of existing features and solutions.
- Assist with interviewing, onboarding, and mentoring new hires.
- Plan, schedule, track, and report project status through customer delivery.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of relevant hands-on software development experience.
- Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python.
- Strong AI experience with Claude.
- Strong understanding and hands-on experience developing MACsec and MKA protocol stacks.
- Hands-on experience with IEEE 802.1X-2010/2020 MKA, including CAK/CKN, SAK derivation and distribution, key server election, EAPOL-MKA PDU handling, and peer state management.
- Strong understanding of IEEE 802.1AE MACsec, including SecTAG, SCI, secure channel and secure association lifecycles, ICV, and replay protection.
- Experience developing software for networking products, routers, switches, security appliances, or similar systems.
- Experience working in Linux/Unix environments and debugging complex system-level issues.
- Preferred experience includes XPN, GCM-AES-XPN-128/256, 64-bit packet numbering, SSCI/salt derivation, 802.1AEbw, PSK- and 802.1X/EAP-derived CAK, RADIUS, MSK-based key hierarchies, AES-GCM, AES-CMAC, AES Key Wrap, and cipher suite negotiation.
- Preferred experience includes MACsec over LAG/port-channel, Ethernet, IPv4/IPv6, VLAN, routing and switching, IEEE8021-SECY-MIB, OpenConfig/YANG, NETCONF/gNMI, interoperability and conformance testing, IPsec, IKEv2, and ESP.
- Familiarity with Git, automated testing, software development methodologies, and CI/CD is preferred.
- Prior experience at a startup or venture-backed company is a bonus.
