Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain high-performance embedded and real-time C++ components, including hardware abstraction layers, device drivers, and data acquisition pipelines.
  • Define technical strategy and the long-term vision for embedded architecture while managing cross-team dependencies and technical debt.
  • Communicate architectural decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders across Product, Clinical, and Regulatory teams.
  • Mentor and develop engineers while promoting technical excellence, code quality, and professional development.
  • Ensure software quality through code reviews, unit and integration testing, and adherence to the software development lifecycle under IEC 62304.
  • Collaborate with electronics and FPGA teams on hardware-software interfaces, hardware bring-up, system integration, and debugging.
  • Contribute to risk management, software hazard analysis, design documentation, and traceability under ISO 14971 and the company quality management system.
  • Participate in design reviews, sprint planning, and cross-functional technical forums.
  • Use AI effectively in daily work and identify new ways to apply it.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on systems-level software architecture.
  • Deep expertise in modern C++, including C++17 or later, memory management, concurrency, real-time constraints, and performance optimization.
  • Hands-on experience developing embedded Linux software, including device drivers and hardware abstraction.
  • Experience in a regulated industry such as medical devices, aerospace, automotive, or a similar field, with familiarity with IEC 62304 or equivalent standards.
  • Strong understanding of hardware-software integration involving FPGA or microcontroller interfaces, SPI, I2C, UART, PCIe, and real-time operating systems.
  • Ability to write clean, well-tested, maintainable software in safety-critical contexts.
  • Experience with high-speed data acquisition systems or real-time signal processing pipelines is preferred.
  • Experience with optical or biomedical hardware integration is preferred.
  • Background in or exposure to data science or machine learning pipelines and their software interfaces is preferred.
  • Experience with CI/CD tooling, automated testing frameworks, and static analysis tools in embedded contexts is preferred.
  • Knowledge of IEC 60601-1-4 or other medical device software standards is preferred.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based IoT architecture and engineering is preferred.
  • Experience with health-tech data residency is preferred.
