Responsibilities
- Estimate, develop, test, debug, optimize, and deploy high-quality native Android applications for clients.
- Write clean, maintainable, secure, and efficient Kotlin code using Android platform frameworks and tools.
- Use Android Studio for debugging, profiling, and performance optimization.
- Write unit and UI tests and troubleshoot application bugs and performance issues.
- Implement accessible features aligned with WCAG guidelines.
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers to implement polished interfaces using the Android View system and Jetpack Compose.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and automated build, test, and deployment workflows for Android applications.
- Contribute to code reviews, reusable documentation, patterns, templates, libraries, and team engineering standards.
- Communicate technical and architectural decisions with clients and cross-functional teams.
- Participate in team and community events, with occasional technical writing, public speaking, or open-source contributions.
Requirements
- At least 3–5 years of relevant experience, ideally in consulting or an in-house cross-functional product team.
- Experience building consumer-facing native Android applications with Kotlin, the Android SDK, Jetpack, and related tools.
- Work samples demonstrating performant, organized code and well-implemented user interfaces.
- Strong knowledge of modern software development practices, tools, and workflows.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to present and defend technical and architectural choices.
- Strong discipline, personal organization, comfort with critique and peer review, and commitment to professional growth.
- Preferred experience with Swift, JavaScript, Ruby, Python, Go, iOS, Ruby on Rails, .NET, React Native, or Flutter.
- Preferred familiarity with Firebase beta testing, Google Play app submission and management, publicly released products or apps, and public technical education.
