Responsibilities
- Design and develop SAP and non-SAP APIs and integrations using ABAP, RFC, ALE/IDOCs, OData, SOAP, REST, web services, and proxies.
- Develop and maintain CDS views, AMDP classes, RICEFW objects, enhancement implementations, forms, reports, interfaces, conversions, extensions, and workflows.
- Configure and extend S/4HANA output management, flexible workflows, in-app extensibility, Adobe Forms, and related enhancement frameworks.
- Manage the full API lifecycle, including building, publishing, and supporting APIs and connecting heterogeneous endpoints.
- Gather customer requirements and develop, test, deploy, and support API solutions used by upstream and downstream applications.
- Consult application teams on consuming SAP APIs through the APIGEE gateway and collaborate with architects, vendors, Ford IT, and business teams.
- Review software engineer code, conduct technical inspections, create production support documentation, and provide production support.
- Perform performance tuning, debugging, defect management, and troubleshooting for developed objects.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of SAP ABAP programming experience in S/4HANA.
- At least two full SAP S/4HANA lifecycle implementation experiences.
- Experience with ABAP 7.4 or later, RICEFW development, CDS Views, AMDP, DDIC, UI5/Fiori, OData, and JavaScript.
- Strong experience with ABAP programming, OData service development, SAP enhancement frameworks, BAdIs, S/4HANA in-app extensibility, Adobe Forms, output management, and flexible workflows.
- Experience with IDOC and API integrations using OData, SOAP, and XML, along with understanding of JSON, REST, and web services.
- Knowledge of SAP software development lifecycle practices and development methodologies.
- Functional knowledge of Finance and Purchasing modules, including SD, FI, or Ariba; experience with Manufacturing modules is preferred.
- Experience working with onsite and offshore teams and managing multiple deliverables.
- Exposure to RAP, SAP Cloud, and the SAP BTP integration platform is preferred.
