Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain reusable AI capabilities spanning models, tools, APIs, and platforms.
- Develop and maintain the internal MCP server for secure AI-agent access to company data stores.
- Create evaluation frameworks and AI guardrails for model performance, reliability, and safety.
- Build and optimize retrieval-augmented generation systems.
- Own projects end to end, from requirements gathering through development, deployment, and ongoing operation.
- Consult with and guide teams across Riskified on AI engineering platforms, tools, adoption, and productization.
- Cultivate AI engineering expertise and sustainable practices across the organization.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend and server-side development experience building complex, highly scalable systems.
- Proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language, with Python preferred.
- Experience collaborating with product, business development, account management, and other non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong product-oriented thinking and ability to elicit, refine, and prioritize requirements.
- Some DevOps experience and ability to develop, deploy, and operate projects end to end.
- Ability to influence without authority and communicate with engineers, managers, VP-level, and C-suite leadership.
- High proficiency with AI-assisted coding tools such as Copilot or Cursor.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Preferred familiarity with Claude Code, Copilot CLI, Strands Agents or comparable agentic frameworks, RAG architectures, Bedrock, MCP, and containerized environments.
