Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate backend services for Spotify’s voice experiences.
- Own production systems end-to-end, including APIs and service orchestration.
- Collaborate with ML and research engineers to productionize models.
- Drive technical design for new capabilities, balancing trade-offs.
- Champion engineering excellence in code quality, testing, and documentation.
- Work with product and design teams to create clear technical roadmaps.
- Mentor engineers and share best practices within the team.
Requirements
- Experience building and operating large-scale, distributed backend services.
- Proficiency in Python or willingness to learn quickly.
- Experience owning systems from design to deployment and reliability improvements.
- Ability to collaborate across disciplines and create clean interfaces.
- Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical partners.
- Demonstrated technical leadership in ambiguous environments.
- A product mindset focused on user impact and data-driven iteration.
- Experience with speech, audio, or ML-adjacent systems is a plus.
