Responsibilities
- Design, build, document, test, and maintain web-based 2D/3D map editors, tools, and visualizations.
- Optimize applications that visualize, validate, and edit terabytes of map data.
- Develop map-generation automation using geometric algorithms.
- Collaborate with machine learning teams to integrate ML-based automations.
- Own problems from requirements and design through implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Improve engineering processes, workflows, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with international researchers, engineers, and other teams to deliver mapping solutions.
- Contribute to integrating agentic AI capabilities into the development lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a relevant field.
- At least 5 years of experience building complex production applications, or equivalent experience.
- Strong experience with TypeScript and React.
- Experience optimizing complex applications for CPU, memory, rendering, networking, or concurrency bottlenecks.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, observability, concurrency, parallelization, architecture, and design patterns.
- Ability to take ownership of software projects through the full development lifecycle.
- Experience building robust editor-style applications with complex state and user interactions, working with geospatial data, developing 3D visualizations, or designing intuitive user interfaces.
- Experience with Three.js, DeckGL, WebGL, or WebGPU is valued.
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical decisions clearly.
