Base Salary
$184k - $314k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and build large-scale systems and services handling massive data volumes and real-time workloads.
- Extend the ClickHouse pipeline to support new filters and attributes.
- Own segmentation backend systems and improve their performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Partner with product teams to define, launch, and continuously improve customer-facing functionality.
- Drive architectural direction, scope major technical initiatives, and manage technical debt.
- Mentor engineers on software design, coding, and operations best practices.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, product managers, and stakeholders to integrate segmentation systems.
- Maintain alerts, on-call procedures, troubleshooting playbooks, and other operational practices.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including hands-on full-stack or backend development.
- Experience building high-scale, high-throughput systems and foundational data-driven systems such as streaming systems, real-time pipelines, or large-scale data platforms.
- A track record of delivering customer-facing products from problem definition through launch and adoption, with measurable customer or business outcomes.
- Ability to drive architectural direction, scope large efforts, manage technical debt, and lead major technical initiatives.
- Deep understanding of software design, data structures, and algorithms.
- Strong communication and organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in team environments.
- Preferred familiarity with Ruby, Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, React, Sidekiq, SQL and NoSQL databases, MongoDB, ClickHouse, Snowflake, Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, Azure, distributed systems, API design, and monitoring.
