Responsibilities

  • Design and build high-performance APIs for accessing transaction datasets in data warehouses.
  • Develop modular, functional, secure, and testable software using Java and related technologies.
  • Create technical roadmaps and guide development staff on technology adoption.
  • Lead daily system development and maintenance activities to meet service-level agreements.
  • Own software maintenance characteristics, runtime properties, dependencies, hardware, operating system, and build processes.
  • Investigate customer-reported issues and develop solutions aligned with customer, architectural, and business requirements.
  • Conduct technical interviews and coach engineering staff.
  • Collaborate effectively in a global environment and help cultivate a high-performance team.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience architecting, designing, and implementing distributed, scalable systems and API-based platforms.
  • Expert Java programming and microservice development skills, including JUnit.
  • Expertise with Spring Cloud, Spring Boot, and Tomcat.
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL persistence technologies such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MongoDB.
  • Proficiency with software testing approaches and frameworks including Cucumber and Spock.
  • Experience with cloud hosting technologies such as PCF and Azure.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools and principles, including Maven, Jenkins, and Chef.
  • Ability to identify performance bottlenecks and develop innovative solutions.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, leadership, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
