Responsibilities

  • Build and ship integration applications hosted inside third-party HRIS, enterprise service management, and other business platforms.
  • Own the lifecycle of platform apps, including SDKs, app frameworks, tenancy and installation models, marketplace certification, versioning, and upgrades.
  • Build internal tooling and agentic projects with guardrails, verification, and reliable development workflows.
  • Design and build APIs for third-party systems and external developers, including versioning, backward compatibility, rate limiting, pagination, idempotency, webhooks, and error semantics.
  • Own API developer experience through documentation, examples, SDKs, and sandbox paths.
  • Support identity and authentication services and apply expertise in OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, token exchange, service accounts, and tenant-scoped access.
  • Work across team boundaries, prototype unfamiliar technologies, and establish standards for testing, API design, security review, and agentic workflows.
  • Gather requirements from senior leaders, create technical plans, make decisions independently, and communicate technical tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Staff-level, high-output individual contributor who raises the output of surrounding teams.
  • Deep experience with complex distributed, service-based systems, including failure modes, data consistency, and latency across service boundaries.
  • Strong experience with several of Python, Go, Node/JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Postgres, NoSQL stores such as Firebase, and Redis.
  • Experience building against third-party platforms and handling quirky APIs, undocumented behavior, certification processes, and breaking partner changes.
  • Experience designing APIs used by developers outside the company and supporting external integrators.
  • Fluency in authentication and authorization, including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, token lifecycles, and multi-tenant authorization models.
  • Hands-on end-to-end and integration testing experience for service-based architectures, including an e2e framework such as Playwright or Cypress.
  • Strong agentic development practice involving coding agents, test loops, CI/CD gates, spec-to-code workflows, and reliability harnesses.
  • High autonomy, cross-team collaboration, and ability to translate technical constraints into business language.
  • Preferred qualifications include product management instincts, enterprise marketplace or app-store publishing experience, Auth0 or comparable identity-provider experience, hands-on AI systems experience, work in correctness-critical domains, and partner- or developer-facing experience.

  • Targeted salary of $180,000 -$200,000 CAD per year, plus equity.
