Responsibilities
- Design and architect complex scalable systems from concept through production.
- Design, build, and own scalable data pipelines for real-world health data from diverse sources.
- Architect and implement production-grade AI-driven services for high-scale medical-data analysis.
- Build and operate backend services, APIs, and data products end-to-end.
- Solve distributed-systems problems involving low-latency access, fault tolerance, and consistency at scale.
- Build connection layers for EHR platforms and health APIs within isolated network environments.
- Own repeatable, observable, and maintainable cloud infrastructure.
- Drive code and architecture reviews, testing strategies, and observability frameworks.
- Partner with Data Science, Product, and Business teams to turn ambiguous requirements into production solutions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building production software systems.
- Fluency in Python and MCP, with experience building high-scale, high-throughput data pipelines.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, software architecture, and engineering fundamentals.
- Experience building complex data pipelines and cloud-native systems on AWS.
- Ability to consider correctness, performance, security, and cost holistically.
- Strong self-direction and communication skills in a fast-moving, high-ownership startup environment.
- Preferred experience building LLM pipelines using systems such as Qwen or Llama.
- Preferred experience with medical or clinical data, including EHR, FHIR, HL7, claims, or de-identified patient datasets.
- Preferred familiarity with data standardization frameworks, data cataloguing, or metadata management.
- Preferred experience with HIPAA compliance, data privacy, or healthcare security requirements.
- Preferred exposure to ML pipelines, feature stores, or collaboration with data science teams.
- A bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in Computer Science or a related quantitative field is listed as extra credit.
