Responsibilities
- Own the architecture and development of a high-performance distributed security system.
- Design scalable processing pipelines with job scheduling, work partitioning, parallel and concurrent processing, and fault-tolerant execution across distributed workers.
- Integrate and optimize machine learning models for throughput, latency, and cost.
- Build integrations with on-premises and cloud data sources and storage systems.
- Establish performance budgets and optimize I/O, CPU, memory, and network efficiency through profiling.
- Collaborate with security researchers and data scientists to turn detection research into production capabilities.
- Mentor engineers, lead technical design reviews, and drive engineering best practices.
- Build observability, resilience, and testability into the system and apply secure-by-design practices.
Requirements
- BSc in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 4 years of professional software development experience building production-grade, high-performance systems.
- Strong proficiency in C++ and Python.
- Proven experience designing and building distributed systems, including task queues, work distribution, horizontal scaling, and fault tolerance.
- Deep experience with concurrency, parallel processing, and performance optimization, including profiling, I/O efficiency, and memory management.
- Experience with messaging or streaming systems and SQL and NoSQL datastores.
- Experience with cloud environments, containers, and orchestration.
- Preferred: experience building security or data-intensive products.
- Preferred: knowledge of storage systems, file systems, and data access protocols.
