Base Salary
$109k - $181k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend services and shared components using Java and Spring Boot.
- Build documented RESTful APIs with consistent contracts, error handling, versioning, and security standards.
- Implement event-driven clinical workflow integrations by producing and consuming Apache Kafka events.
- Develop Oracle data integrations and pipeline components connecting to Databricks for analytics and clinical data processing.
- Contribute reusable core services, shared libraries, frameworks, and event schemas used by multiple clinical domain teams.
- Build React and TypeScript integration layers, administrative UIs, and enablement interfaces for end-to-end feature delivery.
- Write unit, integration, and API-level tests and participate in peer code reviews.
- Create technical documentation using Markdown, Mermaid diagrams, and API specifications.
- Use Dynatrace logs, metrics, and distributed traces to investigate production issues and improve reliability and observability.
- Participate in Agile planning, refinement, reviews, retrospectives, and predictable delivery of committed work.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Typically 4+ years of relevant experience, with 5–7 years of professional software development experience preferred or required in the critical skills section.
- Strong Core Java and Spring Boot experience, including dependency injection, REST controllers, data access, and testing.
- Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs consumed by multiple client applications.
- Practical experience with event-driven architecture and producing and consuming Kafka messages or equivalent.
- Strong relational database knowledge, including SQL, JPA/Hibernate, indexing, query optimization, transaction management, and data integrity.
- Experience with Databricks, Spark, or an equivalent data platform for analytics or pipeline support.
- Ability to investigate production issues using Dynatrace logs, response-time metrics, and distributed traces.
- Working experience with React and TypeScript and the ability to modify frontend components supporting end-to-end delivery.
- Understanding of Linux/Unix environments, shell scripting, basic networking, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for documenting services and explaining technical decisions.
- Preferred qualifications include healthcare IT experience, clinical data standards knowledge, shared-library or platform-service development, Docker and orchestration exposure, Elasticsearch experience, and enterprise Agile/Scrum familiarity.
