Responsibilities
- Translate complex scientific and operational requirements into delivery roadmaps from discovery through scaled production deployment.
- Embed with R&D teams to understand workflows and own customer value creation.
- Identify high-leverage opportunities for AI agents across customers’ scientific and operational environments.
- Design, implement, and iterate on production-ready integrations, owning features from architecture through rollout.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues in real time while ensuring reliability and adoption.
- Act as the primary technical AI contact within client organizations.
- Capture customer pain points and product gaps and collaborate with Applied AI and engineering teams on future capabilities.
- Partner with go-to-market teams and account executives on engagement scoping, success metrics, and pre-sales technical evaluations.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of professional software engineering experience shipping production-grade software.
- Strong proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript/JavaScript with deep software engineering fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience building and deploying production LLM-powered or agentic AI systems, including prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, model evaluation, and orchestration frameworks.
- Ability to reason through systems architecture, debug at the infrastructure level, and write clean production code independently.
- Ability to travel 20–40% at peak times and operate independently with incomplete information.
- Proven problem-solving skills and experience debugging complex systems and owning features end to end.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with scientists, executives, and engineering teams.
- Deep curiosity and willingness to learn scientific domains quickly.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field, or equivalent demonstrated professional experience.
- Preferred experience in life sciences, pharma, biotech, or scientific R&D.
- Familiarity with regulated data environments such as GxP, HIPAA, or 21 CFR Part 11.
- Background as a technical founder, forward-deployed engineer, or management consultant is a plus.
- A science degree or research experience alongside engineering skills is a plus.
