Base Salary
$210k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Shape the architecture and evolution of infrastructure supporting researcher and enterprise deployments.
- Design, build, and scale deployment systems across GCP, AWS, Azure, and on-premises environments.
- Partner with enterprise customers and Customer Success Machine Learning Engineers on production installation, troubleshooting, and scaling.
- Lead infrastructure initiatives, internal tooling, automation, and developer productivity improvements across engineering teams.
- Drive CI/CD best practices and evolve pipelines using GitHub Actions and Google Cloud Build.
- Develop and maintain Voxel51-hosted GKE deployments and customer installations using Kubernetes or Docker Compose.
- Troubleshoot build, runtime, infrastructure, and customer deployment failures.
- Design monitoring, alerting, and predictive solutions to anticipate and prevent failures.
- Mentor engineers and set technical direction for infrastructure practices.
Requirements
- Deep experience building, packaging, and debugging container images and using Kubernetes, Docker Compose, and Helm.
- Expertise with infrastructure as code using Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent tools.
- Scripting and automation experience with Bash or similar technologies.
- Python expertise covering build and environment management, packaging and distribution, release management, and dependency debugging.
- Experience with CI/CD systems, ideally GitHub Actions.
- Cloud infrastructure knowledge, especially GCP services and concepts including IAM, VPC, load balancing, ingress and egress routing, proxies, and firewall rules.
- Database fundamentals, ideally with MongoDB or similar NoSQL systems.
- Observability experience designing monitors, logging, tracing, and alerting.
- Knowledge of security practices involving certificates, service accounts, least privilege, and role assumptions.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems with customers involved.
- Comfort designing and applying different types of tests to validate functionality.
- Strong communication skills for enterprise customer interaction and cross-team collaboration.
- Adaptability and curiosity when learning unfamiliar concepts and technologies.
