Base Salary
$227k - $313k/yr
Responsibilities
- Act as the day-to-day technical lead for applied ML projects involving spatial intelligence.
- Design, implement, and iterate on ML systems analyzing 2D drawings and BIM data for clashes, inconsistencies, and constructability risks.
- Develop model training, evaluation, and inference pipelines in collaboration with engineers.
- Lead proof-of-concept and exploratory work to validate technical approaches.
- Maintain the performance, reliability, and maintainability of ML codebases and supporting systems.
- Set engineering quality standards through code reviews, mentorship, and technical guidance.
- Collaborate with partner teams to integrate spatial intelligence systems into broader platform workflows.
- Identify and address or escalate technical risks, architectural gaps, and operational concerns.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of professional experience building production software systems, including applied machine learning components.
- Strong experience designing, training, and deploying ML models using Python and modern ML frameworks.
- Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and system design.
- Experience with complex or high-dimensional data such as images, documents, or structured technical datasets.
- Ability to provide technical leadership through direct contribution, mentorship, and architectural decision-making.
- Understanding of reliability, scalability, cost, and operational constraints.
- Clear communication skills and ability to explain technical decisions and tradeoffs to cross-functional stakeholders.
- Preferred experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, NumPy, Pandas, HuggingFace, self-supervised or multimodal learning, computer vision, spatial data, distributed training, experiment tracking, dataset versioning, annotation workflows, Python-based services, REST or gRPC APIs, batch and streaming pipelines, containerized ML services, Kubernetes, cloud compute and storage, model evaluation, monitoring, alerting, and production optimization.
Benefits
- Base pay range is $227,332.00–$312,581.50 USD annually, with potential eligibility for equity and/or bonus compensation.
- Hybrid work arrangement based in San Francisco with onsite work three days per week.
