Responsibilities
- Design, build, and deliver scalable payment software systems used across more than 70 countries.
- Lead backend engineering for distributed payment systems and make architectural decisions for owned features.
- Develop with Java, Kotlin, Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and JUnit using design patterns, SOLID principles, and Domain-Driven Design.
- Own services end-to-end, including infrastructure automation and continuous deployment.
- Define testing strategies covering unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end testing.
- Diagnose and resolve complex production issues across multi-region distributed microservices.
- Promote reliability, observability, and on-call best practices.
- Mentor teammates and advocate for engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience designing and delivering software systems in complex business domains at global scale, preferably within fintech or payments.
- Deep backend engineering expertise, particularly with distributed systems.
- Hands-on expertise with Java, Kotlin, Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and JUnit.
- Strong ownership mindset and interest in automation, continuous deployment, and reliability.
- Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity, and attention to quality and performance.
- Experience with payments, wallets, or anti-fraud is a plus.
- Experience with event-driven architectures such as Kafka is a plus.
- Experience mentoring other engineers is a plus.
