Responsibilities
- Monitor CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes clusters, and application health dashboards; triage alerts, apply documented fixes, and escalate complex incidents.
- Write, update, and maintain scripts, YAML configurations, Terraform modules, and Ansible modules supporting deployments and infrastructure changes.
- Perform smoke testing and deployment validation in development and staging environments, including verification of monitoring, logging, and alerts.
- Participate in design sessions and code reviews with senior engineers while following team standards and change-control processes.
- Maintain wikis, runbooks, deployment guides, and troubleshooting documentation to support incident response and reduce knowledge silos.
- Perform special projects and initiatives as assigned.
Requirements
- Applicants must be permanent employees in the title, reachable on the current civil service list, or otherwise meet the stated civil service eligibility requirements.
- At least a four-year high school diploma or educational equivalent and at least three years of qualifying IT experience are required.
- Qualifying pathways include a master's degree in computer science with three years of IT experience, a bachelor's degree with four years of IT experience, a high school diploma with six years of IT experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Required qualifying experience must include at least 18 months in an administrative, managerial, executive, or supervisory capacity.
- Undergraduate or graduate credits may substitute for limited IT experience, but cannot replace the required 18 months of administrative, managerial, executive, or supervisory experience.
- Experience areas may include applications development, systems development, data communications and networking, database administration, data processing, or user services.
