Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership across compute, storage, networking, Linux, Windows, and Kubernetes platforms.
- Design, implement, and evolve enterprise-scale, resilient, scalable, maintainable, and cost-effective infrastructure solutions.
- Define and drive Infrastructure as Code standards and reduce operational toil through automation and reusable workflows.
- Evaluate and adopt AI-enabled tooling and agent-based workflows for infrastructure operations, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Partner with infrastructure, cloud, security, application, and engineering leadership teams on data center and cloud solutions.
- Perform impact analysis, identify cross-system risks, lead root cause analysis, and drive durable corrective actions.
- Define and socialize engineering standards, reference architectures, and infrastructure best practices.
- Mentor engineers through coaching, design reviews, and knowledge sharing.
- Influence infrastructure and platform roadmaps and long-term technical strategy.
- Participate in incident response, disaster recovery planning, and on-call rotations as needed.
- Improve infrastructure reliability, scalability, delivery velocity, and operational efficiency through measurable platform improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering roles with deep hands-on ownership of compute, virtualization, and storage platforms.
- Expertise designing, operating, and troubleshooting enterprise-scale compute and virtualization environments, including capacity planning, lifecycle management, availability, and performance tuning.
- Strong experience with block storage, file and scale-out NAS, object storage, S3-compatible platforms, data durability, lifecycle management, and cost optimization.
- Experience designing and operating enterprise file services for remote workforces, including secure access, performance, availability, identity, endpoint, and security integration.
- Hands-on experience with storage and data protection platforms such as Pure Storage, Cohesity, and Qumulo, or equivalent solutions.
- Advanced Infrastructure as Code and automation experience using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Python, and Git, including reusable modules and workflows.
- Strong Linux and Windows Server administration experience in highly available production environments.
- Networking fundamentals sufficient to design and troubleshoot across compute, storage, and network boundaries.
- Experience with virtualized and/or hybrid infrastructure environments and platform architecture tradeoffs.
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and lead responses to critical infrastructure incidents.
- Preferred experience with hybrid data center and cloud environments, AI-assisted operations, agent-based automation, configuration management, Kubernetes platforms, observability, disaster recovery, and organizational infrastructure strategy.
- Preferred experience with VMware and alternative or emerging hypervisor and virtualization solutions, including KVM-based and cloud-native virtualization platforms.
- Ability to own ambiguous, high-impact problems, influence architecture across teams without direct authority, and resolve complex production issues across infrastructure layers.
