Responsibilities
- Design and implement next-generation Ingress Gateway control and data planes.
- Build scalable L4/L7 load balancing and HTTP proxy interfaces with TLS termination, end-to-end encryption, traffic policies, blue/green deployments, and access control.
- Develop, debug, operate, and own resilient distributed systems across thousands of compute nodes and multiple data centers.
- Build reliable and self-healing services while balancing live-site management, feature delivery, and technical debt retirement.
- Contribute to open-source projects including Envoy and Istio.
- Deliver high-quality, secure, highly available code with appropriate test coverage in an agile environment.
Requirements
- Experience designing, developing, debugging, and operating resilient distributed systems at large scale.
- Experience with service ownership and building reliable, self-healing services.
- Familiarity with public cloud platforms, particularly AWS and GCP.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, TLS termination, and HTTP proxies.
- Experience balancing live-site management, feature delivery, and technical debt retirement.
- Ability to learn and work with Envoy, Istio, NGINX, Kubernetes, Helm charts, Spinnaker, load balancing, and security groups.
- Passion for distributed systems, service mesh, infrastructure, and challenging technical problems.

- The role is offered with a base salary range of $148,500-$223,900 annually, with select San Francisco and New York City metropolitan locations offering $178,900-$246,000 annually.
