Base Salary
$247k - $396k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver AI-native developer platform infrastructure, including agent orchestration layers, harnesses, LLM reasoning loops, environments, developer portals, guardrails, and velocity tooling.
- Lead autonomous delivery of comprehensive system designs and projects in partnership with R&D engineering peers.
- Serve as the key technical consultant on coding-agent runtime architecture across multiple teams.
- Identify technical needs and drive milestones for AI-native developer tooling over a one-to-three-year horizon.
- Establish reference implementations, orchestration patterns, and agent-safety guardrails that other engineers can adopt.
- Mentor and raise the technical bar for Staff-level and more junior engineers.
- Contribute externally through industry discussions, blog posts, conference talks, or other engineering-direction activities.
Requirements
- 15–20+ years of software engineering experience.
- Recent hands-on experience within the last 6–12 months building coding-agent-runtime infrastructure, such as agent orchestration, harnesses, or LLM reasoning loops.
- A Principal-level track record of technical decisions and architecture adopted by other teams or organizations.
- Deep experience shipping and operating build systems, CI/CD, or internal developer platforms at production scale.
- Ability to set technical direction and work independently with minimal oversight.
- Experience applying RBAC, secrets management, and compliance gates to autonomous or semi-autonomous coding agents.
- Preferred: coding agents are already core to the candidate’s daily engineering workflow rather than limited to a pilot.
- Preferred: experience representing engineering direction externally or influencing practice change across an organization.
