Base Salary

$130k - $170k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and monitor high-performance backend services and APIs for secure, low-latency authentication and identity workflows.
  • Build and operate cloud-native services and data pipelines across AWS and GCP using managed services such as S3, DynamoDB, Kinesis, and IAM.
  • Deliver software through the full development lifecycle, including automated testing, deployment, infrastructure-as-code, and production support.
  • Contribute to architecture, threat-aware design, authentication, identity, and fraud-prevention solutions.
  • Integrate and productionize AI/ML-driven risk scores, deepfake detection signals, and policies in scalable, observable services.
  • Use metrics, logging, tracing, dashboards, and diagnostic practices to improve production reliability, alert quality, and latency.
  • Collaborate with engineering, test, research, product, Protect, Passport, and Core teams on customer-facing identity and fraud capabilities.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation, including after-hours support for production authentication services.
  • Create documentation, runbooks, and design reviews, and mentor teammates through code reviews, pairing, and collaboration.

Requirements

  • 5–7+ years of professional software development experience building backend services and APIs.
  • Strong experience with Go, Python, or similar languages and knowledge of data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and Linux-based development.
  • Hands-on experience designing and operating cloud-native systems in AWS or GCP, including S3, DynamoDB, Kinesis, and IAM.
  • Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes, production deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and live-service support.
  • Preferred experience with Redis, MySQL, RabbitMQ, and Elasticsearch.
  • Preferred experience in authentication, identity, fraud prevention, security-sensitive products, observability, and production diagnostics.
  • Exposure to UI work or adjacent product experiences connecting backend systems to customer-facing workflows.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, ownership, independent judgment, adaptability, curiosity, and a mentorship mindset.
