Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Java backend applications and services for business-critical claim resolution workflows.
- Build scalable microservices and service integrations that connect internal platforms and dependent systems.
- Implement and support AWS cloud-based solutions with attention to reliability, security, and maintainability.
- Create and enhance APIs supporting high-volume transactional workflows.
- Troubleshoot application and service issues, identify root causes, and deliver stability improvements.
- Optimize application performance and service interactions for scalability and operational efficiency.
- Participate in code reviews, unit testing, sprint planning, backlog refinement, estimation, and other engineering practices.
- Document technical designs, implementation details, service dependencies, and API contracts.
- Support deployments, release validation, post-release monitoring, and monitoring and alerting improvements.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, stakeholders, and adjacent teams to deliver technical solutions.
- Share technical knowledge and identify opportunities to simplify workflows or reduce manual effort through automation.
- Use AI tools appropriately for engineering productivity while reviewing outputs before applying them.
Requirements
- 2 to 4 years of software engineering experience in backend development, distributed systems, or related application development.
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining production applications with Java.
- Experience developing or supporting microservices and service-based architectures.
- Working knowledge of AWS and cloud application deployment concepts.
- Experience building or consuming RESTful APIs and integrating with distributed systems.
- Understanding of object-oriented design, testing, debugging, and version control.
- Experience working in Agile or iterative development environments with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to analyze technical issues, communicate clearly, and contribute practical solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
