Responsibilities
- Design, build, and support scalable Java microservices and user interfaces for Disney’s advertising platform.
- Collaborate with product, UX, and engineering teams to deliver user-centric advertising features.
- Translate user stories into engineering tasks and own work from development through deployment.
- Mentor teammates through code reviews, documentation, and informal guidance without direct reports.
- Implement metrics, monitoring, and alerting to improve system observability.
- Participate in on-call rotations and promote operational excellence.
- Champion code quality, automated testing, and agile engineering workflows.
- Use automated AI tools in accordance with company policy.
Requirements
- Require 4–8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
- Require proficiency with Java and related frameworks, including Spring Boot and ORMs.
- Require experience with ReactJS or modern JavaScript frameworks such as Vue or Angular.
- Require strong experience with relational databases including MySQL and Postgres, including schema and query design.
- Require experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Require a strong foundation in computer science principles, including data structures and algorithms.
- Require strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Prefer experience in ad tech, programmatic advertising, or real-time bidding platforms.
- Prefer experience with Spring Boot and related Spring projects, AWS, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Apache Kafka, AWS Kinesis, and/or SNS/SQS.
- Prefer a BS or MS in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience.
