Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust synchronous and asynchronous API automation frameworks and test suites using Java, Serenity, REST Assured, Cucumber, or comparable frameworks.
- Validate complex JSON payloads and use data-modeling classes and data-transfer objects in automation frameworks.
- Write and execute complex SQL queries and joins for database validation, schema changes, and data integrity testing.
- Perform integration testing with PACT, performance testing with Locust and JMeter, and UI automation with Cypress and Playwright.
- Build and maintain test stubs and mock services to support parallel development and testing.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and manage source code with Git, GitHub, and GitHub Actions.
- Create test plans, manage defect reporting, track quality metrics, and prepare test summary reports.
- Coordinate UAT cycles, gather stakeholder feedback, and align testing scope with business requirements.
- Prioritize testing tasks and defects in JIRA, participate in Agile ceremonies, and communicate progress during client calls.
- Lead client and stakeholder discussions and clearly articulate technical testing issues.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience as an SDET.
- Expert proficiency in Java and in-depth knowledge of REST APIs, JSON validation, POJO classes, and DTOs.
- Hands-on experience with Cypress and Playwright for UI automation and Locust and JMeter for performance testing.
- Strong expertise writing complex SQL queries and experience building test stubs and mock services.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, including tools such as Jenkins and GitLab CI, as well as Git and GitHub/Git Actions.
- Proven experience with test planning, defect reporting, test reporting, UAT management, and business-stakeholder coordination.
- Proficiency in JIRA for issue tracking and project management.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to lead client calls and explain technical issues clearly.
- Experience with UI automation frameworks such as Selenium or Cypress is preferred.
- Knowledge of unit testing concepts, QA-strategy integration, DevOps, monitoring, and SDLC is preferred.
- Ability to use AI tools to improve productivity and workflows while applying responsible judgment to data and AI outputs is preferred.
