Responsibilities
- Implement performance and tuning modules for high-throughput and reliable applications.
- Identify code bottlenecks and bugs and develop solutions.
- Maintain code quality, improve software design, and refactor for performance.
- Conduct peer code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Develop automated tests and thoroughly test and debug code.
- Coordinate with QA, Operations, Technical Architects, Product Owners, and cross-functional application teams on application changes and performance issues.
- Analyze key performance indicators and identify opportunities for system improvements.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of full life-cycle software development experience.
- At least 3 years of object-oriented development experience in C++.
- Strong written and oral communication, analytical, collaboration, problem-solving, and software design skills.
- Ability to use test-driven development, research and adopt new technologies, adapt to change, and build software to specification.
- Desired experience includes Linux development, automated testing, Oracle or SQL database integration, Python, Unix shell scripting, PowerShell, JavaScript, Node.js, real-time programming, multithreaded application debugging, design patterns, and financial markets or market data systems.
- Exposure to Agile methodologies is desirable.
