Responsibilities
- Design and build high-throughput, low-latency data-processing pipelines with Apache Spark and Spring.
- Optimize JVM performance, garbage collection, Spark jobs, and resource efficiency.
- Design scalable, resilient, and transactional distributed systems using Kubernetes/OpenShift and distributed data stores.
- Engineer and optimize relational and NoSQL data models for integrity, performance, and scalability.
- Own and improve CI/CD pipelines for Java applications and Spark jobs in containerized environments.
- Lead design and code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and drive adoption of architectural patterns and technologies.
Requirements
- Expert-level Java proficiency, including the Collections Framework, Lambdas, and the Java Concurrency API.
- Demonstrated experience tuning the JVM and troubleshooting memory and garbage-collection issues.
- Hands-on experience developing, deploying, and tuning complex Apache Spark applications for large-scale data transformation and analysis.
- Extensive production experience with the Spring Framework, especially Spring Boot, Spring Data, and Spring Batch.
- Deep understanding of data structures and algorithms as applied to distributed and performance-critical systems.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift for distributed application deployment and management.
- Strong SQL and relational database design skills, including transaction management and indexing, plus experience with at least one production NoSQL database.
- Practical application of object-oriented programming, SOLID, and Domain-Driven Design principles.
- Commitment to Test-Driven Development and robust automated testing.
- Ability to lead technical design and code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
