Base Salary
$144k - $194k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build Java backend gateway APIs from concept through deployment and operation.
- Integrate ordering, payments, billing, equipment, network provisioning, and support services by calling APIs, translating service models, and composing responses.
- Handle distributed-system concerns including partial failures, retries, timeouts, error translation, latency, and reliability across many dependencies.
- Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and partner service teams to expand the platform into new countries.
- Use agentic development workflows, generative AI tools, and AWS-native services to improve delivery and operations.
- Review code, provide feedback, and coach teammates on service integration patterns and well-tested code.
- Document the software and train new team members on how it is built, tested, and operated.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- At least 3 years of programming experience with a modern language such as Java, C++, or C#, including object-oriented design.
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience testing backend services.
- Preferred: 5 or more years of full software development lifecycle experience.
- Preferred: 2 or more years contributing to system architecture and design, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Preferred: experience with test-driven development, dependency injection, API modeling, clean layering, and API gateway, orchestration, or backend-for-frontend services.
